Giving Back in 2014

By: David Fisher, CEO

Enova is committed to supporting the communities where Enova’s customers and associates live and work. We bring innovative products to the market that help people get the credit they need, and we give back to the community through corporate giving and individual associate voluntarism.

In looking back at the past year, I think we have done some good things expanding our charitable partnerships and offering team members new ways to give back. Here are a few new additions to our charitable program in 2014:

  • In April, Enova launched a partnership with Chicago Cares, an organization that connects individuals and businesses with impactful community services opportunities in the Chicago area. Chicago cares helped plan seven half-day volunteer activities for cross-functional Enova groups. Team members planted gardens, painted schools, and ran a science fair for underprivileged elementary school students. In total, volunteers donated 540 hours to worthy causes through our Chicago Cares partnership in 2014.
  • May was a busy giving month for Enova, as we incorporated a donation component into our 10-year anniversary celebrations. Enova associates donated 1,366 personal grooming and bedding items to A Safe Haven, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals suffering from homelessness and addiction. We also hosted our sponsored One Million Degrees community college students on site for a career day including resume feedback and shadowing opportunities.
  • June was yet another busy giving month for Enova. In addition to participating in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, a 3.5 mile run to promote good health while giving back to the community, Enova also launched the Enova Gives Associate Volunteer Day, which provides full-time corporate associates with one paid day per calendar year to volunteer for a nonprofit organization of their choice.
  • In November and December, Enova team members combined the spirit of giving with the spirit of competition as they vied for “most generous floor” in our first ever Chicago Cares Warm Up Chicago hat and glove drive. Associates donated an incredible 2,652 items to help our underserved Chicago neighbors stay warm this winter.

In addition to our corporate partnership in 2014, I was really happy to see a 100 percent increase in the number of associates who participated in our Charitable Match program, as well as a 175 percent increase in the amount of submitted donations. From the increase in matching donations to the success of our A Safe Haven and Chicago Cares donation drives, it is clear that Enova team members are as passionate about giving back as the company is about serving its customers. We all look forward to another great year of growth at Enova – both for our business and our community.
