The Chicago Women in Technology Conference Returns September 27

Now in its third year, ChiWiTConTM empowers people from all backgrounds and experiences to own their careers, build community and create the future face of technology.

Chicago (Sept. 6, 2018) — ChiWiTCon, a one-day gathering of technologists and leaders from Chicago and beyond, is returning for its third year on September 27. Spearheaded and sponsored by Enova International, ChiWiTCon is the only Chicago technology conference with content specially designed to inspire and empower individuals across all genders, backgrounds, platforms and technologies. The focus of this year’s conference is “Future Face of Technology: creating a better world through integrity, diversity and curiosity.”

“We’re excited to bring together an even larger group of leaders and technologists with a diverse array of experiences this year,” said Stacey Kraft, chief people officer at Enova. “Our Women@Enova leadership team has secured an impressive lineup of speakers, and our intention is for attendees to leave renewed and excited about the future of their own careers and that of the Chicago tech community.”

ChiWiTCon 2018 will bring the achievements, aspirations and career interests of inspiring individuals in technology to the forefront. Keynote speakers Veronica Bultron, entrepreneur and CTO of TangoCode, and Julianna Cole, chief technology officer of Farm Journal Media, will provide conference attendees with actionable ways individuals can further their own careers and impact the future makeup of the Chicago tech community. Partner and sponsor organization Attract, Retain, Advance (ARA) will return for a new take on last year’s popular panel. Attendees can also expect built-in discussion time and a fun, informal networking opportunity designed to encourage authentic connections.

“ChiWiTCon was the creation of a small team of women at Enova who wanted to provide people with an opportunity to learn from and inspire one another — with the hope that the collective learnings and relationships forged at the conference would bolster women in tech and the Chicago community as a whole,” said John Higginson, chief technology officer at Enova. “It’s been amazing to see this event grow every year, with participation from individuals and companies across Chicago interested in helping us build a better future.”

Other speakers presenting at this year’s conference include Tina Hauri, president of Bradford Garrett Group, Inc.; Melissa McSherry, owner and business development coach of Better than Before; Joe DeCosmo, chief analytics officer at Enova International; Josh Nixon, web developer and lead instructor at Actualize Coding Bootcamp & Apprenticeship; Jennifer Farver, CTO of Popular Pays; and Michelle Y. Bess, diversity, equity and inclusion lead at Sprout Social.

To accommodate for increased demand from attendees, ChiWiTCon will be held at a new venue in 2018: The Metropolitan Club at the Willis Tower. Supporting the growth of the conference are several new sponsors, including Home Chef, JPMorgan Chase and Pluralsight.

Tickets for ChiWiTCon 2018 are now available. Interested individuals can find more information on the conference on the ChiWitCon website and by following @ChiWomenInTech on Twitter.
